On 15th May, Altice Labs held a workshop at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) that had the scientific area of IoT as a background. This workshop, framed in a protocol of collaboration between that institution and Altice Labs, was attended by Pedro Carvalho and Fernando Morgado, from Technology and Innovation Strategy department.
Students from the Higher School of Technology and Management of this institution attended the workshop, and a detailed presentation was made of the various technologies that support IoT, comparing the pros and cons of each of them with regard to the use of frequency bands, areas of coverage, energy autonomy and availability in the market. Some elements of an IoT support network were shown, as well as some of the work in this area, demonstrating access to the “City Governance Center” platform developed at Altice Labs.
This workshop allowed a closer relationship with the IPB, and in the same context, during May, IPB’s poles of Mirandela and Bragança will move large numbers of students to know more scientific and work areas of Altice Labs , in loco, at the company’s headquarters in Aveiro.
