A new router capable of delivering speeds of up to 10 Gbps (8Gbps nominal), the SFR Box 8X, was launched by SFR in February 8th, a pioneer product for French market supported in XSG-PON technology.

Developed by Altice Labs, the device uses the most up-to-date fiber technology, XGS-PON, and is Wi-Fi 6-capable. The box was ideally suited to the evolving needs of the market, centered on teleworking, gaming, transfers of large files and streaming.

While the router comes with four Ethernet ports – capable of delivering a maximum speed of 1Gbps each – users have the possibility of adding a high-speed Ethernet connection via an optional SFP module to deliver nominal speeds of up to 8Gbps speeds over a local area network.
