Altice Labs was present at what is considered the largest technology summit in Europe, the Web Summit 2023, which took place between November 13 and 16 in Lisbon.
Luís Cortesão, from the Operations Support Systems department, participated in a roundtable at the Startup Portugal stand, focusing on the theme “Lisboa: City of Innovation – AI Ecosystem – Responsible AI”.
The session was moderated by Gil Azevedo (Executive Director, Startup Lisboa & Unicorn Factory Lisboa) and also featured the participation of Kunal Gupta (founder of ai.pt) and Paulo Dimas (VP Product Innovation, Unbabel). The debate focused on the relevance of AI for businesses and Portugal’s ability to address the challenges posed by this new reality for businesses and academic environments, as well as the impact of Responsible AI on current initiatives and the strategy for its gradual, but systematic adoption. The conversation ended with the formalization of cooperation between the players, including Altice Labs, for the development of the AI ecosystem in Portugal, properly framed within the concepts of Responsible AI.
In this 8th edition of the Web Summit, there were 2,608 startups, 900 investors, 300 partners, 800 speakers, and a total of 70,236 participants from 153 countries.
