The Broadband World Forum (BBWF), considered one of the largest annual events for telecommunications, took place between the 23rd and 25th October 2018 in Berlin.

During this year’s edition, the BBWF 2018 attracted more than 10.000 executives and featured more than 100 exhibitors and technology suppliers.

Altice Labs was once again at this event with a set of technological solutions for the next fiber optic networks generation (PON) and its evolution to Virtualized environments.

In this context, Altice Labs presented its new OLT2T2 and OLT2T4 platforms designed to support the high capacity of XGS-PON and NG-PON2 technologies and their evolution to Software Defined Access Node (SDAN) networks, as well as to highlight this technology’s potential as a solid base for the implementation of future proof access networks.

Altice Labs also introduced its new Operations Support Systems generation (NOSSIS One) with focus on how it responds to the challenges of new digital drivers, such as virtualization and 5G, covering needs for provisioning, support and network registration.

As key elements of this fair, the interest in XGS-PON technology was highlighted, as well as the improvement of the user experience with the new IEEE 802.11x Wi-Fi standard.

In addition to the market outlook and the business opportunities developed at this event, relevant contacts were also made with potential partners and suppliers focused on new technological trends.
