Altice Labs was present with Altice Portugal at the 28th APDC congress, under the theme “Digital Business”.

Over the course of two days, 26th and 27th September, the Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications held its annual congress and brought more than a hundred speakers to Cultural Centre of Belém for a series of discussion sessions dedicated to various areas of communications, information technology and digital.

Altice’s exhibition space was organized in 3 areas, where Altice Labs, represented by Ilda Marques, from the New Business Development department, presented the Smart Mirror, an  intelligent mirror prototype that allows gesture interaction and voice commands in addition to an Ultra TV concept proof, with disruptive interaction models with the contents and with the Digital and Interactive TV interface itself and the MEO Remote. In the Altice Portugal exhibition space, the Box Sophia and the Nazarépic mobile application were in evidence.

In the various discussion and presentation sessions, several cases were featured in the areas of Big Data and Analytics, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Gamification, IoT, and Augmented Reality and Virtual, among others.

The 2 winning startups were chosen; Infraspeak and Performetric from the 12 finalists of the 2018 edition of “Startups powered by APDC,” an initiative that aims to increase the visibility of technology-based startups. The selection jury was: Pedro Rocha Vieira (Beta-i), Alcino Lavrador (Altice Labs), Bruno Costa Cabral (Deloitte), Eduardo Nunes (DXC Technology), Alexandra Martins (Ericsson), Dennis Teixeira (HPE), Gonçalo Costa Andrade (IBM), Luís Calado (Microsoft), João Ricardo Moreira (NOS), Bernardo Bello (Randstad), Raquel da Cruz Leal (Startup Portugal) and Fátima Cardoso (Vodafone).
