Applications for the 7th edition of the Altice International Innovation Award (AIIA), the largest monetary prize awarded in the country in the area of technological innovation, are now open and will remain that way until September 24th. The announcement was made during Altice Labs’ 7th anniversary celebrations.

Like last year, this year the AIIA will also have a guest country, a country with immense skills and gigantic potential in the technological field, Ukraine.

Also, AIIA will be joining Startup Lisboa in the ecosystem of partners of this important innovation award, by hosting and supporting the incubation phase of the winning startups.

For the 7th consecutive year, ANI is joining the award promoted by Altice with the Born from Knowledge distinction. The best “born from knowledge” finalist project resulting from research and development activities will receive €2,500, along with the knowledge tree, a work of art symbolizing the enhancement of national scientific and technological knowledge.

In 2023, the competition categories will remain the same:

  • Startup Category, which aims to reward entrepreneurs and startups in the incubation phase, open to all European Union countries;
  • Academy Category, focused on doctoral students enrolled at Portuguese universities of any nationality;
  • Inclui” Category, sponsored by the Fundação Altice, which honors inclusive projects aimed at making information and communication technologies and technological accessibility solutions available to citizens, particularly those with special needs.

This is an award that marks the panorama of scientific and technological innovation in Portugal, which has already crossed borders and has a number of participants from all over the world.

Since 2017, the AIIA has received more than 500 applications and awarded prizes totaling more than €460,000.
