The delegation was received by the general director of Altice Labs, Alcino Lavrador, who gave a presentation on 5G & IoT, with particular emphasis on the definition, context and scenarios in 5G, some use case of IoT and the positioning of Altice Labs in this context.
There were also demonstrations of two 5G projects that Altice Labs is developing:
– Superfluidity that demonstrates advanced technological scenarios such as: creation of superfluid services, short instantiation and migration times, service portability and aggregate network in the core.
– City Dashboard, an operational management center that provides a holistic view of the city’s resources, allowing the visualization, monitoring, control and correlation of different urban management systems, such as public lighting or waste management, in order to optimize municipal processes through IoT technologies applied to Smart Cities, contributing to improve the quality of life of citizens.
The 45-member delegation visited the Altice Labs campus, its network systems laboratories and development, prototype and testing laboratories.
At Future Labs, the group saw demonstrations of some prototypes such as the Smart Mirror, the Ultra TV solution and the 5G latency demonstrator.
