On the 9th of November, at 11:09 a.m., alarms went off in several buildings of Altice Labs reminding that, for one minute, everyone should perform 3 simple self-protection gestures: Lower, Protect and Wait.
The employees actively participated in this exercise, entitled “A Terra Treme”.
This national awareness initiative has been promoted for ten years by the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection and aims to prepare citizens for the possible occurrence of an earthquake, drawing attention to the risks involved and the importance of simple behaviors that citizens should adopt before, during and after an earthquake.
The National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection has sought to broaden reflection and debate around the issue of seismic risk and participation to all sectors of civil society, as it believes that “Portugal is a territory with areas particularly sensitive to this risk” and we must all be “prepared to face such a situation and recover from it quickly”.
