“ICT Industry Evolution Lines” was the theme of the 87th Tech Day that took place at Altice Labs Amphitheatre, in Aveiro, on the 30th November.

In this 87th Tech Day the aim was to highlight, analyse and discuss the main wordwide changing trends that have direct or indirect impact in the business of our customers, B2C and B2B.

At this event, the main focus areas of investigation, development and innovation projects were presented and discussed, as well as their most recent evolution.

The 87th Tech Day began with a presentation about “ICT Industry Evolution Lines” by Dr Anastasius Gavras from Eurescom, that was followed by the presentation “5G: A big step for Technology” by Vasco Lagarto from TICE.PT and Francisco Fontes from Altice Labs’ Technology and Innovation Coordination Direction (TIC). The theme “NFV & SDN Innovation Strategy” was discussed by Gino Carrozzo, from Nextworks, in Italy, and Pedro Neves, also from TIC.

The first part of the event ended with a presentation form Jorge Ferraz de Abreu of the University of Aveiro, and Bernardo Cardoso, from the Digital, Internet and Television Direction (DIT), whose title was “TV Trends: OTT, APPS e ADS”.

The second part of the event began with a presentation by Eduarda Rodrigues, from Fujitsu, and Jorge Teixeira, from TIC, whose title was “Big Data on Media: not just big, but smart”, being followed by a presentation under the theme “A Startegy for IoT” by Ivan Alvarez, from Intel, and Isabel Borges, also from TIC. The event ended with a panel discussion moderated by Luís Miguel Silva, from TIC, where it was discussed the impact of the main approached trends, namely: “Key ICT Industry Evolution Line impacts on B2B”.
