The 77 Tech Day was attended by the two largest Cloud Providers, Amazon AWS and Microsoft, according to a study published by Gartner.
Fernando Guedes Carvalho, responsible of the PT team of IT/Cloud consulting, opened the event with the presentation of the cloud strategy of the PT Group, as well as his vision of the evolution of cloud.
The first speaker, Enrique Lopiz, Amazon Web Services solutions’ architect and responsible for Spanish and Portuguese customers, presented an overview of Amazon Web Services family products. It also focus the migration aspects of legacy applications to the cloud, exposing possible strategies to operationalize this migration.
Luís Calado, Microsoft Technical Evangelist, is focused since 2010 on the cloud business. He presented the Microsoft Azure, from the technical perspective and also the possible ways of migration of traditional applications for this cloud solution.
The session ended with the intervention of Pedro Carvalho, from PT Inovação, which highlighted the importance of investment in cloud, having discussed examples of successful companies in the migration to this new reality.
