On January 30th and 31st, Athens hosted the kickoff meeting of the “6G-PATH” (6G Pilots and Trials Through Europe) project, which saw strong participation from consortium members. Filipe Cabral Pinto, from the Strategy and Digital Innovation department, represented Altice Labs at the event, giving a presentation on the testbed. It is noteworthy that the Aveiro demonstrator is a smart cities use case, developed in collaboration with the Telecommunications Institute, aiming to evolve city mobility with the support of advanced communication networks and artificial intelligence services.
Throughout the event, each partner reflected on their work, and the project leader shared ideas, with some administrative aspects also being discussed. Various sessions were held on topics such as the 6G-PATH platform, the experimentation environment, dissemination and commercialization, data management, innovation, intellectual property rights, and vertical experimentation.
This program, officially launched on January 1, 2024, is the result of a 36-month collaborative effort, marking a significant step forward in technology advancement.
