Between the 2nd and 5th October, the second plenary meeting of the H2020 5G-VINNI european project was held at Altice Labs’ facilities.

5G-VINNI aims to accelerate the introduction of the fifth mobile networks generation (5G) in Europe, by establishing a pan-european infrastructure for 5G metrics validation such as capacity, latency, reliability, user density, services creation time or CAPEX / OPEX reduction.

The 5G-VINNI infrastructure is distributed by 8 sites, one of which is located in Aveiro, operated by Altice Labs, and intends to provide to external projects, including industries and sectors of activity generically called “verticals”, a technological ecosystem capable of demonstrating and evaluate innovative applications and use cases, powered by 5G technologies.

In the context of 5G-VINNI, Altice Labs collaborates with a group of 22 partners, including mobile technology manufacturers (eg Ericsson, Huawei, Samsung, Nokia), operators (eg Telenor, BT, Telefonica), technological SMEs and academic institutions .
