Altice Labs’ Fiber Gateway GR240OH, a GPON solution featuring dual-band Wi‑Fi 7 technology, was awarded the BBF.247 certification from the Broadband Forum. This internationally recognized certification validates the device’s maturity, performance, and quality for deployment in real-world Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) networks, ensuring interoperability with Optical Line Terminal (OLT) systems from multiple vendors in multi-vendor environments.
The Broadband Forum certification is a key industry benchmark for Optical Network Unit (ONU) and Optical Network Terminal (ONT) equipment used in PON networks, including GPON, XG-PON, and XGS-PON. Its primary objective is to ensure that devices comply with rigorous technical standards – such as TR-156, TR-280, and G.988 – and that an ONT operates seamlessly across any operator network, regardless of the OLT manufacturer.
This achievement further strengthens Altice Labs’ positioning as a provider of innovative, flexible, and standards-compliant solutions.
