Test Bed Description

The ED-X Test Bed foresees the implementation of a network infrastructure using software instances freely provided by the Gaia-X initiative (Digital Clearing House (DCH) and Cross Federation Service Components (XFSC)), as well as the IDSA initiative (Data Space Protocol specification and Minimum Viable Data Space (MVDS)), among others (Fiware). All co-promoters, except TICE.PT, will have infrastructure in place to carry out 43 pilots by September 2025.

The pilots will leverage data ecosystem interconnection, contributing to enhanced digitalization within participating companies. This Test Bed aligns with the objectives of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) and Component 16, “Enterprises 4.0,” supporting digital transformation and the transition to a more secure, interconnected, and transparent society.

  • Gain access to cutting-edge technological infrastructures from the largest national telecommunications operators;
  • Establish close contact with European directives, guidelines, and developments related to the new data economy, bringing them closer to international peers and promoting their integration into European communities in this sector;
  • Develop products and services rapidly to increase their competitiveness in the market.
