Altice Labs organized the 133rd edition of TechDay, dedicated to the theme “Designing Intelligent Solutions”. The session brought together experts from Altice Labs, MEO, Microsoft, and Accenture to discuss the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on organizations.

Ana Margarida Pisco Almeida, from the Innovation Strategy and Communication division, opened the session highlighting the growing importance of AI as a transversal and unavoidable domain, while underlining the role of TechDay as a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

The exchange of ideas began with Paulo Pereira, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Center at MEO, who posed the question: “Why should a well-positioned operator embrace new technologies?” He challenged the audience to reflect on the role of AI in shaping corporate strategy and vision. Paulo also presented several ongoing internal projects, such as the ECA Bot, Invoice Explainer, and Customer Feedback Intelligence, emphasizing the company’s commitment to operational excellence, proactivity, and customer experience through the integration of generative AI. He concluded by stressing that “no one remains a leader by doing what they’ve always done – you must constantly challenge yourself”.

Fernando Marçal, AI Lead at Microsoft, noted that “we are living in an exciting moment in technological terms”, a premise that framed his presentation on the importance of building scalable and governable solutions. As an example of Microsoft’s work in this area, he showcased Azure AI Studio (Foundry) as a robust technological foundation for creating intelligent agents with built-in security, monitoring, and multimodal capabilities.

Taking an organizational transformation perspective, André Machado, AI Lead at Accenture, focused on how AI is redefining the role of consultants, demanding greater speed, depth, and ethical responsibility in project delivery. He argued that the real differentiator will lie in storytelling ability and continuous reinvention, closing his talk by highlighting the need to “keep studying and learning” and to “be more ethical, because we are introducing into our workspaces something we don’t fully control”.

Finally, Ricardo Ângelo, Head of Conversational AI/BOTSchool at Altice Labs, shared practical use cases of autonomous agent implementation – from training support teams with simulated agents, to automating product cataloguing, to integration with enterprise tools and continuous observability.

With complementary perspectives and strategic insights, this edition of TechDay reinforced Altice Labs’ ambition to lead digital transformation by promoting intelligent and collaborative solutions that deliver real business impact.
