Altice Labs proudly announces the granting of a new national patent titled “Apparatus and Method for Load Control Management in Distributed Data Processing Systems”. This technological innovation is already integrated into the company’s Online Charging NGIN OCS 4G system, providing an intelligent solution that optimizes the distribution of external request admission limits during system overload scenarios.

Plans are underway to extend the application of this technology to the NGIN CCS 5G system (5th Generation Convergent Charging) and NGIN PCF 5G (5th Generation Policy Control). These systems enable real-time application of prepaid and postpaid tariffs (online charging), as well as bandwidth allocation and quality of service management (policy control) in telecommunications networks.

Although this patented technology was specifically developed for internal use within Altice Labs’ systems, it holds potential benefits for a wide range of systems operating on multi-server computational platforms with multiple entry points – so-called “distributed systems”. The advantages become especially relevant in public cloud environments, where stricter cost control related to infrastructure usage is critical.
