Skope – Museum of Medicine and Health by the Casa Hermes Foundation in Aveiro was inaugurated on October 17th, 2024.
Originating from the Dr. Hermes Museum House, founded by the doctor and collector Hermes de Oliveira Castanhas, a native of Aveiro, Skope is a project that, in addition to being a space for the appreciation of the collection and the History of Medicine, is established as a center of knowledge and health education.
As a technological partner, Altice Labs not only offers connectivity to the Museum, but has also developed an innovative and immersive museum experience about the Medicine of the Future. “inSkope” materializes as a time capsule that invites visitors on a journey between the past and future of medicine. Exclusively developed by Altice Labs for the museum and supported by the SmartAL platform, this capsule offers an interactive, immersive, and ludic experience, allowing each visitor to privately monitor various vital data and biometric parameters activated throughout the experience. At the end, each user receives a comprehensive report on their health status with personalized recommendations to promote healthy habits.
The experience was coordinated by Altice Labs’ Experience and Product Design team, which developed the interfaces and designed the capsule while ensuring the continuous evaluation of the solution. The Product Promotion team brought the narrative to life through audiovisual production, while the Digital Platforms and Services team focused on the technological development and implementation of the project.
The inauguration ceremony featured the presence of Paulo Firmeza, Altice Labs’ General Manager, Margarida Almeida, Director of Innovation Strategy and Communication, and Pedro Carvalho from Research and Innovation Ecosystem.
There were also present, among other personalities, the President of the Medical Association, Dr. Carlos Cortes, and the Mayor of Aveiro, José Ribau Esteves.
