50 Years of UA Talks Cycle at Altice Labs: “Inteligência artificial: ameaça ou oportunidade”

On October 9^th, the showroom at Altice Labs in Aveiro hosted a session of the Audacity and Liberty Talk Cycle, integrated into the celebrations of the 50^th anniversary of the University of Aveiro (UA). The debate, centered on the theme “Inteligência artificial: ameaça ou oportunidade”, featured participants Luís Pedro (UA), Filipe Cabral Pinto (Altice Labs), and Vítor Rolla (researcher at Fraunhofer AICOS), moderated by Margarida Almeida (Altice Labs). The session’s challenger was Armando Pinho (UA).

During the event, several relevant topics were addressed, including:

– The impact of Machine Learning on education, exploring the potential of AI to transform teaching and learning processes.

– Enhancing communication skills in the context of the growing adoption of AI technologies.

– Ethical and regulatory implications of using LLMs (Large Language Models) in daily life, including in the job market.

– The role of AI in industry as a facilitator of processes and creator of new opportunities, despite the threats to existing professions.
