Altice Labs participated in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Coimbra Surgical Center (CCC), held on July 4, where they presented innovative advances in the automation of glaucoma diagnosis.

The collaboration between Altice Labs and the CCC has been fundamental in developing advances in the processes of early and timely detection of glaucoma, one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness in the world.

The event was attended by Maria Manuel Castro and Rita Oliveira from Altice Labs’ Business and Operations Support Systems department. During the celebration, significant advances in the use of Machine Learning algorithms to automate glaucoma diagnosis were revealed.

António Travassos, an ophthalmologist at CCC, and Rita Oliveira from Altice Labs presented the promising results of the project, highlighting the transformative impact of technology on the accuracy and efficiency of diagnosis.
