Altice Labs participated in the workshop ‘NCS – Networks, Communications, and Security’ on May 15, 2024, at the invitation of CISUC – Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra. The event took place at the Department of Informatics Engineering and featured a lecture by Francisco Fontes, from the Altice Labs’ Innovation Strategy and Communication department.
In this spring edition, Francisco Fontes presented ‘5G, from standards to exploitation: Altice Labs testbeds and use cases.’ The presentation covered the evolution of 5G standards since 2019, including open-source and commercial implementations that are fulfilling the promises of this revolutionary technology.
Francisco Fontes also revealed Altice Labs’ advances in 5G lab activities and tests, as well as highlighting the coordination of the ‘5G connect port’ working group in the PRR NEXUS project, focused on the Port of Sines.
Participation in the NCS Workshop reinforces Altice Labs’ commitment to leading technological innovation and the application of emerging technologies, such as 5G, while promoting knowledge sharing with the academic community.
