PT Inovação e Sistemas participates in the reTHINK project (Trustful hyper-linked entities in dynamic networks), within the Horizon 2020 EU Framework Programme (ICT 5 – 2014: Smart Networks and Novel Internet Architectures), with a budget of 4,7 millions of Euros financed by the European Commission.
The reTHINK project will design and develop a new architecture of services based on Web technologies, which aims to be an alternative to the current IMS architecture (IP Multimedia Sub-system) for the provision of any service (including contextualized conversational services, content delivery and M2M / IoT), in a more agile and efficient way.
reTHINK will allow telecom operators to be Over the Top, providing services on a global scale and beyond the geographical boundaries of the telecom operators networks. However, it didn’t forget the commitment with the quality of service and it uses mechanisms to allow interoperability between different domains.
The consortium is led by Eurescom and besides PT Inovação e Sistemas, it includes Orange, Deutshe Telekom, FOKUS Frauhofer and INESC ID Lisbon.
