On the 10th September, Altice Labs officially opened its new research center in Ribeira Brava, Madeira. The event was attended by Alcino Lavrador, general manager of Altice Labs; Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Altice Portugal; Miguel Albuquerque, president of the regional government of Madeira, in addition to other members of the government, the university and Ribeira Brava City Council.

The Altice Labs Center is currently located at Startup Madeira, but will be an anchor of the Ribeira Brava Technology Center when its facilities are completed in the second half of 2020.

This new center reinforces the ongoing commitment to decentralize Altice’s innovation and research laboratories, with the goal to promote the creation of a local network of technological and scientific partners. Thus, schools, universities, startups from Madeira or other organizations based in the region can develop local projects in conjunction with Altice Labs, contributing to the strengthening and development of the region and also its ability to export technology.

With the creation of this new research and innovation center, Altice Labs now has a permanent physical presence in this geography, as well as a strong link to the dynamics of innovation and local knowledge, actively contributing to its strengthening and development.
