On the 22nd May, Altice Labs welcomed a group of students from the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, from the Informatics and Communications Degree and from the Higher Professional Technical Course in Informatics, from Mirandela’s Hub and on, the 24th May, the Degree in Informatics Engineering of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, from Bragança’s Hub. Both had the opportunity to get to know some of the company’s most emblematic places and projects.
The visits began with a brief presentation made by Ricardo Ferreira (EIT), on the 22nd, and by Paulo Margaça (EIT) on the 24th. The company’s history, along the evolution of telecommunications in the country and the world in the last 70 years and the various products developed, were the addressed themes. The groups then split up to take a guided tour of the campus in order to see important milestones and the latest developments in products and solutions.
With a good mood, attention and commitment spirit, the students were always interacting and expressing an interest in what was being exposed, giving testimonies such as “I enjoyed the visit, I liked the electronics parts, the components welding details, the tests that are made in the equipment, …” also expressing the desire and the will to one day be able to work here.
In the opinion of Mirandela’s teachers, it was also a great honor to visit the facilities of this company “it was very interesting for the students, although they are more computer-oriented. It is important to have contact with the electronics, because it opens horizons for other future perspectives and their own evolution …”, as for Professor José Rufino from Bragança (Course Director) “we like to visit Altice Labs, thank you for the warm welcome and for allowing students to have a closer contact with a professional world as enriching and innovative as the one that it’s lived in here…”.
