On the 2nd April, Altice Labs welcomed a group of 30 students from the 10th grade of the Technical Computer Programmer Professional Course and the 11th grade of the Computer Systems Management and Programming Professional Technical Course. Both classes from Castelo de Paiva School had the opportunity to know some of the company’s most emblematic places and projects.

This visit began with a presentation of the company’s history, along the telecommunications evolution in the country and the world in the last 70 years, highlighting the products developed by Altice Labs. Next, the students were guided on a campus visit, where they were divided into two groups to see important milestones and the latest developments in technology.

The students were always interacting and expressing interest in what was being exposed to them, and had the opportunity to give their feedback. One of the students stated, “I enjoyed the visit. It is important for our training. It was important to see how the things we use everyday really work”. But it was not only the students who expressed an interest in this visit, the teachers themselves were fascinated by what they saw, and they were very participative in the course of the visit.

“I found this visit very interesting because they were able to see how a company works at the peak of innovation and technology. Some of the equipment that they have been shown are equipment they use on a day to day basis and for them it is an awakening on how things are done. It was one of the best visits we’ve had so far”, said one of the teachers. “Really enjoyed it. It was an opportunity for students to see the theoretical knowledge, which they learn in class, applied in a practical context. It is very useful for their academic life. We shall return”.
