On the 12th November, Altice Labs welcomed 17 trainees of Altice’s Darwin Programme for a visit to the company’s facilities for a closer contact with a company of the group, where innovation happens permanently and where some of the biggest communications solutions were developed.

The visit began with a presentation of Altice Labs, followed by a visit to the various laboratories and museum.

During the visit to the laboratories and museum, the trainees showed their appreciation, as for José Maria Coimbra, from the Marketing and Communication department, “the visit was very relevant, for us it is important to know closely other realities and here we have the telecommunications foundation and how important it is to innovate, I also enjoyed seeing the evolution of the company over 70 years…”. For Maria Pereira, from the Distribution Networks department, “the visit was very interesting, very enlightening, because this was a part of Altice that we were unaware of… I also highlight the history of Altice Labs and the projects done to this day”.

On the 20th November, a group of 23 students from the Vasconcellos Lebre Professional School, from Mealhada, of the 12th grade of Computer Equipment Management and Systems Informatics courses, went to Aveiro to get to know some of Altice Labs’ places and projects.

The visit began with a presentation of Altice Labs, followed by a presentation carried out by José Fernandes, from the Network and Platform Systems department, about BOTSchool. The students interacted throughout the visit stating and emphasizing that “they really liked the laboratories, the museum and the various presentations, with a special highlight to Future Labs and the projects developed there”.

The month ended with a visit of 24 students from Felgueiras Secondary School on the 27th November to the Altice Labs campus. These 11th grade students of the Professional Multimedia Course had as main goals to have contact with the reality of a large company in Digital Services, Internet and Television and to understand the applicability and importance of the company’s communication and image.

The visit began with a presentation of Altice Labs, which was followed by an overview on “Communication and its Image in the Job Market” by Paulo Margaça, from the Technology and Innovation Strategy department, and ended with a presentation carried out by Cátia Oliveira, from the same department, about “User eXperience”.

At the end of the visit to the laboratories and museum, the teachers and students showed their satisfaction by stating that “the goals have been fully achieved, everyone was interested in knowing more about the company, which is the market leader in telecommunications and multimedia. We became aware of the world of opportunities, in terms of employability that this company offers in the areas of information and multimedia systems”.
