On the 19th September 2018, the first audit of the H2020 5GTANGO project (5G-Phase2) was held in Brussels.
This project has as main goals the development of a Validation and Verification Platform (VNV), in order to test the virtualized functions and services before they are used in production, and the extension of the capabilities of the NFV Orchestration Platform (SP) initiated in the SONATA project.
SONATA is a completed H2020 (5G-Phase1) project, which started the development of an NFV Orchestration Platform, capable of on-boarding functions (VNFs) and network services (NSs), and proceeding with its instantiation, creating agile complex networks in virtualized environments.
Altice Labs was present through José Bonnet and Carlos Parada of the Technological Coordination and Innovation department, both technical leaders of the Project and the Orchestration Platform, respectively.
During the audit, the technical progress that the project achieved in the various areas was presented, and an integrated Demonstration of the various services life cycle phases was performed: (1) creation, preparation, packaging and on-board (SDK); (2) testing and validation (VnV); (3) use in production environment (SP).
The audit results were very positive, with auditors highlighting the project’s significant advances, which can be explored externally, as developments are available in an open source model at https://github.com/sonata-nfv.
