On the 13th April, Altice Labs was visited by a delegation from Ivoire IP, with the Executive President (Hugues Bridault), the Financial Director (Stanislas Bridault) and a representative of CAMUSAT’s fiber optic project director (Luis Murjal).
The purpose of this visit was to evaluate Altice Labs’ capacity to contribute to a Wi-Fi access network project that Ivoire IP is building in Ivory Coast.
Altice LABS’ contribution is part of GPON’s backhaul area, which will link the data center with around 4000 Wi-Fi access points.
The objective of this project is to provide prepaid broadband and access at very competitive prices via Wi-Fi in Côte d’Ivoire and, later, to expand to the neighboring countries of Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Chad and Central-Africa, representing a market of 150 million people.
During the visit, GPON, AGORA and OSS technologies were presented and demonstrated the interoperability between our OLT1T3 systems and Wi-Fi Access Point, which will be used in the scope of this project. The development and testing laboratories of the systems were also visited, as well as the systems production unit in Águeda.
