Altice Labs held a Usability week, between the 14th and 18th November 2016, with workshops, activities and content sharing related to Usability and User eXperience (UX).
The Usability week happened in the context of the celebration of World Usability Day, WUD. WUD was established in 2005 by the Usability Professionals Association, currently UX Professionals Association. It occurs annualy and it seeks to promote the values of usability, user-centered design, universal usability and the responsibility of all users to wish for things and systems that work better. This day has been marked by events that occur throughout the world, organized by companies, groups and individuals.
There were several daily activities throughout the Usability week:

According to Inês Oliveira, UX team leader at Altice Labs, there were identified several key messages which sumarize the result of the Usability week, such as:
– Usability and UX are a matter of business. A good UX designer translates the wishes and needs in value proposals for the business.
– UX is a collaborative activity – it requires constant collaboration between the technical and product teams, from the beginning of the projects to their conclusion.
– UX goes beyond FUXI (Altice Labs Framework of User Experience & Interface) – FUXI consists of a set of pieces and artefacts used on different products and systems; usability and the UX team work go beyond FUXI in a sense that they represent the final user’s vision, objectifying it through the elaboration of products and services that we offer, based on studies, tests, recommendations, use patterns, among others.
The Usability and UX team leaves a word of appreciation and thanks to everyone present, to sharing and collaboration throughout the week.
