Launched today, the Altice International Innovation Award (AIIA) returns to its 4th Edition and it is receiving applications until the 30th of September.

Promoted by Altice Labs, it aims to reinforce the positioning of Altice Labs and Portugal in the development of innovation, enhancing national talent and spreading it inside and outside doors, aiming to receive applications from startups in the incubation phase, as well as students master's and doctoral degrees in Portuguese Academic Institutions.

AIIA distinguishes itself, once again, for its simultaneous connection to the Academy and startups, as well as from the total prizes awarded to its winners, offering the largest pecuniary prize in Portugal in the technological innovation area: 1st place in the category startups will receive a cash prize of €50.000 and the possibility of completing a pilot (proof of concept) with Grupo Altice, with a minimum duration of 9 months; the 1st place in the Academy category will receive a cash prize of €25.000.

The initiative also has the partnership of the National Innovation Agency (ANI), which will attribute the Born from Knowledge (BfK) distinction to the best finalist project "born from knowledge" resulting from research and development (R&D) activities, thus valuing , national scientific and technological knowledge.

This year, despite the success of the three previous editions that counted on the involvement and candidacy of several international projects, due to the moment of public health that is lived in Portugal and in the World, the AIIA will have a only national geographic scope. However, the possibility of participating foreign students (in an international exchange taking place in Portugal) and startups from other countries (with a subsidiary in Portugal) remains and is reinforced again.

The final of this edition will be played on 26th of November. Registrations are open until 30th of September and can be made online through the official website at
