Study visits to Altice Labs in February

On the 5th February, 24 students from the 12th grade of the Electronics and Telecommunications course of the Colégio de Gaia, visited Altice Labs, in Aveiro. This visit began with a presentation of the company and the work done at Altice Labs, followed by a presentation on the NetQ product (customer problem management system), where there was opportunity for students to expose their questions.
After the presentations, the students were divided into two groups to visit the various laboratories and the Telecommunications Museum, where they could interact with the equipment, test and see connection schemes, and also understand how the various technologies work.
All students loved the facilities, the friendliness of the staff and the visit. According to student Diogo Silva, all students learned about the Telecommunications area, which is an area of great interest to everyone present at the visit. Overall, the area they liked the most was Future Labs.
On the 14th February, it was the turn of a group of 29 students from the 11th grade of the Sciences and Technologies Scientific - Humanistic course of the José Estevão Secondary School, in Aveiro, to visit Altice Labs to learn about the history and some of Altice Labs' places and projects. This visit was organized by the class students who had as main goal to get to know the research and innovation processes and the world of work more closely. The visit started with a brief presentation of the company, followed by a presentation on processes management, namely the innovation processes of Altice Labs. The students and teachers interacted throughout the visit, stating that the study visit was of added value to the students because it provided them with knowledge about the history of telecommunications and contact with the latest technology, made in Aveiro, in the various laboratories visited. They also mentioned that Altice Labs is a company that they would like to work as soon as they finish their academic journey.
February ended with the visit of 23 students from the Póvoa de Lanhoso School Group, on the 17th February, to the Altice Labs campus. These students from the 12th grade of the Multimedia Technical Professional Course and Professional Technical Course in Management and Computer Equipment. Their main goal was to encourage an interest for constant knowledge updating in the areas of Informatics, Electronics, Telecommunications and Multimedia. The visit started with a brief presentation of the company, followed by a presentation on User Experience and a visit to the laboratories and museum. According to students and teacher, the balance was undoubtedly quite positive, as it provided playful moments related to new technologies and encouraged in them an interest for constant knowledge updating in the areas of technologies and information systems. And finally, it also allowed them to have contact with the market potentialities.
