1. Introduction

The Altice International Innovation Award (AIIA) intends to distinguish, promote and support the technological talent while reinforcing Altice as an innovative company. The AIIA initiative starts at 23 of February 2018 and ends on a date to be announced soon.

2. Scope

The aim of the  initiative is to award projects from finalist students (Master’s or PhD) and startups in the incubation phase (up to 3 years), who present innovative projects in technological areas relevant to Altice International’s core business:

  1. Telecom: or telecommunication is the exchange of information by electronic means and refers to all types of voice, data and video transmission. AIIA is looking for value-added projects, platforms or services delivered over (mobile) networks which facilitate and promote rich types of communication between people2people, machine2machine, enterprise collaboration, among others;
  2. Media & Content: in the case of the AIIA, is not only the information or experiences created to an end-user (preferably, by mobile devices, television or web platforms) but also the applications, platforms and technologies that allow to deliver and monetize some type of content for any type of end-devices;
  3. Data & Advertising: data is often seen as the new black gold, due to the value you can extract from the combination of massive amounts of data. On the other side, advertising, that takes the most out of data to effectively get to end-users, is a means of communication with the users of a product or service that uses several different media to spread its message. AIIA is looking not only for innovative projects or platforms that support advertising activities and campaigns but also for algorithms, applications, platforms capable of better treating and visualizing data, extracting the most value out of it.
