Smart Wifi network - Next generation WiFi ecosystem

Context

The massive use of Wifi networks for device connectivity has led to a degradation of radio connectivity and quality of service perceived by end Wifi users.
The aim is to find solutions that allow:

• Expansion of Wifi coverage and capacity;
• Develop control mechanisms and interference management and;
• evolution to an intelligent ecosystem architecture based on a distributed and function split Wifi netwok.

Project objectives

Novel architectures and topologies able to manage high dense Wifi interference scenarios.
New techniques to maximize and enhance Wifi radio coverage and capacity.
Specify and develop real time advanced control and interference management mechanisms.
Study the feasibility to integrate in the current RGW for proof of concept.

Key skills required

• Wifi and wireless netwoks architectures and topologies.
• IEEE802.11x standar and variants.
• Radio frequency concepts apllied to wireless systems.
• LINUX /C++ programing.
• VSA and veriwave test and measurement tools.
