The reTHINK Service Delivery framework follows Microservices Architecture patterns and Edge Computing paradigms and aims to fullfill the requirements of future 5G networks based on a new service paradigm called Hyperlinked Entity (Hyperty). An Hyperty is similar to a Mobile Agent or a Mobile Bot that performs tasks on user's behalf, by communicating through P2P Data Synchronisation with other Hyperties. Hyperties are executed as much as possible at users' devices (e.g. smartphones) or in Edge Network Servers (edge computing).
The user Identity is decoupled from the Service Provider enabling the end-user to decide the Identity to be used with a certain Hyperty instance.
The solution leverages the Protocol-on-the-Fly (ProtoFly) concept to avoid creating or modifying standard network protocols, but moving instead towards an API based flat service architecture. Thus, Hyperties from different Service Providers can easily cooperate with no federation required or the standardisation of Protocols. Hyperties use WebRTC technology to support Real Time Communication.
The main objective is to design and develop a Virtual Assistant web App (eg Alexa and Facebook Bots) that is strongly focused on social communication. The behavior of the App automaticaly adapts to user's context, which is inferred using data collected from sensors e.g. location and activity. The Smart Contextual Assistance App will demonstrate the new services framework from reTHINK project, according to the Hyperty service concept.
