FTTH and DOCSIS network and services Convergence in cable operators

Context

Netwok convergence solution allowing a smooth transition from the legacy DOCSIS (Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification ) technology used by the traditional cable operator to new PON/ FTTx (ex. Fiber to the Home) fiber based solution supporting high bit rate with better QoS while keeping the CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) and OSS/NMS tools , allowing the operators saving costs.

Project objectives

Convergent FTTx / DOCSIS architecture approaches study.
Contribution on the specification and development of the technical solution supported on the GPON and NGPON2 products of Altice Labs.
Contribution to setup lab measurements and trial.

Key skills required

• Optical netwoks.
• Radio frequency concepts apllied to coax cable operators.
• FTTX (Fiber to the home) access networks.
• LINUX/C++ programing.
