Recent advances in wireless communications and pervasive computing are driving the constant development of the so-called Internet of Things (IoT), providing ubiquity and intelligence to our surrounding environment. IoT represents the extension of Information Technology (IT) to all areas of our lives, transforming current isolated networks and infrastructures into a global network of interconnected heterogeneous objects as a key enabler of the future Big Data era and Smart Cities ecosystems.
Data may be collected from multiple equipments (smartphones, sensors, gateways) and may vary from simple network statistics to sophisticated data or detailed user information (door/window status, departure /arrival time, social network data). Despite this new data collection paradigm allowing huge business opportunities, big privacy and security issues may arise from this growing volume of highly sensitive data.
In this project, we will identify, evaluate and implement mechanism allowing event processing and detection on encrypted data, ensuring privacy and security of the analysed data.
In this project, we will identify, evaluate and implement mechanism allowing event processing and detection on encrypted data, ensuring privacy and security of the analysed data.
Amongst technologies to be evaluated, we highlight homomorphic encryption, data obfuscation, searchable encryption and secure multi-party computation. Work breakdown will be as following:
