MEO Queue – sharing content between any device and MEO TV

Context

In the vast multimedia content ecosystem nowadays it’s getting common that the same user has smartphone, tablet, computer and even an advanced TV service like MEO, thus it’s more and more important to allow content sharing among all these platforms.
For several years, MEO TV service has advanced content sharing functionality between mobile devices and television. You can currently share Youtube content to the box using MEO Go for Android or iOS.
This project aims to take the next step, making all the devices into a single medium in which sharing, consumption and content management can be done seamlessly from any terminal.

Project objectives

With cross-management of multimedia content, user can choose what and where to see it. You can for example add a trailer or any video to your playlist (queue) using the computer browser and watch it later, comfortably on the TV big screen.
Components to prototype:

• MEO application for playback, sharing and content management (Mediaroom Presentation Framework).
• Plugin for Browser (to be defined) for sharing and content management (Chrome and Firefox Extensions).
• Plugin for MEO Go (Android, iOS and Windows) for sharing and content management (MEO Go APIs).

Key skills required

• Object Oriented Programming (Java or .NET C#).
• WebServices/REST.
• Experience of development for TV or entertainment terminals will be valued.
• Basic knowledge of usability / interaction design.
