Test automation, including the automatic provision and control of test scenarios

Context

Embedded software development is constantly evolving due to market demands/ technology challenges, particularly regarding to product's quality and reduced time-to-market. In this way, test automation is a fundamental task, since it allows to address the quality and time aspects, among others, being also a very complex task. Besides testing the product itself, it is also essential to validate it in the technological ecosystem for which it was designed, only possible with a large support of auxiliary equipment controlled by SW, properly articulated in order to allow the immediate creation of a given scenario (service type "A", customer "B"; negative tests "C," etc.), followed by an automatic execution of a set of functional and non-functional tests, in particular, load, performance and stress.

Project objectives

This project aims to develop software for test automation (within Altice Labs framework) in the Connectivity Systems Development area, which allows to increase test coverage and also increase resilience to system configuration changes. The person will participate in the entire development cycle, from requirements specification to test automation and acceptance tests, with the client. The person will also participate in scenarios design and automation development, in order to execute a set of functional and non-functional tests, mainly focused on load, performance, stress and scalability. The main challenge is the creation of an ideally automatic LAB (technical room), without the need for human intervention, and in which it is possible to build and use test scenarios through automatic provision using software tools, and wherein the automatic tests perform the validation of new SW releases; new service models; among many other applications, all within the time to market.
