UX Copywriting

Context

The way we communicate and provide feedback leverages the way the user interacts with an application. While consistency in terms and expressions must be constant throughout the entire system, each message to the user must adapt to the context, user profile, present situation and interaction with content.
The urgent need to improve interaction with the different systems, increasing the usability level to reach a unique user experience, shortens the distance between copywriting and usability/user experience.
Generally, it is expected that a UX designer makes the systems more pleasant to see and to use. A copywriter, on the other hand, must make systems more intuitive and simple to read. At the end, we expect a sexier system, both in visual, cognitive and interactive terms.
Such as a good UX, a good copy focus on the user, the context, the flow of interaction, the business and the brand. Extra words or explanatory text do not solve bad UX, but copy can help improve already good UX.
For UX i tis fundamental to make words count, when the subject is critical (navigation, instructions, errors, forms and important documents, client support, privacy issues, when costs are involved and whenever the user is willing to read to find an answer), or not so critical (uploading screens, less critical notifications, brand considerations, among others).

Project objectives

Altice Labs develops telecommunication systems. Such systems, used by technicians with different profiles, are accessed through interfaces which are specified, designed and tested by the Usability and User Experience team, which works crosswise with different systems.
Copy complements design, but by its own it is not enough to explain how the system/product works. It is crucial to keep a close interaction between the UX designer and the copywriter.
The goal of this project is to allow a parallel job between UX and Copy, alongside with Altice Labs’ systems information organization. It is also expected to bring along the Product Managers for shortening the distance to the product.
One of the Altice Labs systems to consider for this project is AGORA. AGORA is a network management system (NMS) focused on NetB@nd networks. Implements FCAPS (fault-management, configuration, accounting, performance and security) for multi-technology equipments. It manages GPON, MPLS and Ethernet, still maintaining legacy technologies, such as PDH, nx64Kbps, ATM, SDH e xDSL, reducing further investments on Network Operation Centers (NOC).
It is expected the copywriter to:
