MEO for Smart TV

Context

This project aims to create an application based on the remote control API provided by TV manufacturers (Samsung, LG, etc.) to access applications and content natively provided by the Connected TV, directly from MEO menu or integrated in the channel lineup.
For example, MEO STB doesn’t have a Netflix application, but most Connected TVs do. The aim of this project is to allow MEO internal menus to open the Connected TV native Netflix application and in the end return back to menus MEO, without customer having to change the remote control or having to switch the TV input (from HDMI to connected Apps and back to HDMI).

Project objectives

• Development of application allowing the consolidation of Connected TV lineup using the remote control API (Samsung/LG).
• Study Connected TV remote control API (Samsung SDK, LG SDK, others TBD).
• Scenario specification.
• Development of application prototype.

• Good software development skills.
