Protocol between the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda and the Altice Innovation Center - Altice Labs

In the classrooms and laboratories of the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, talking about Telecommunication Networks is also talking about technical issues such as Internet of Things, software testing or cyber security. These are the themes of the partnership between the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda and Altice Labs. The goal is to bring together the knowledge acquired in the two institutions, for staff training and creation and promotion of highly qualified employment.
As mentioned by the general manager of the Altice Innovation Center, Alcino Lavrador, this protocol broadens the connection network with the Universities and Polytechnic Institutes, being a tool to increase the investigation capacity and knowledge gaining to transform it into products and services.
For Pedro Pinto, professor and researcher in the area of telecommunications networks of the Polytechnic, this protocol has as main advantages to work and cooperate with one of the most innovative companies in the world, and to work with promising technologies that will be a trend in the future.
For Alcino Lavrador, working with innovative technologies will allow students to check what the knowledge they get in the classroom is, and these two entities are in articulation to adapt some of the training courses curriculum for students to be able to work with Altice in the future.
Joaquim Brigas, President of the Polytechnic Institute of Guarda, says that this is a contribution to attract more people to the interior with the guarantee that there is a lot of quality training with this partnership with Altice Labs.
