Altice Labs in the TechDays 2018 "Made in Aveiro" session
19/10/2018 TechDays Aveiro
Teresa Soares, from Altice Labs’ Technological Coordination and Innovation department, participated in the TechDays "Made in Aveiro" session, attended by eight guests from different areas of knowledge, all alumni of the University of Aveiro (UA), who shared with the audience their business and scientific research projects.
In one of the afternoon panels, moderated by journalist Pedro Martins, the invited speakers were Mara Freire - Coordinating Researcher at the University of Aveiro, Teresa Soares - Senior Consultant at Altice Labs, Carlos Pedro - CEO of Sondar.I and Celso Assunção - Fashion Designer (CELSUS brand). In this session each of the speakers made a brief description of their career, with quite diverse presentations, followed by a brief moment of questions and answers.
During her presentation, Teresa Soares shared some important moments in her career, with special emphasis on the admission in the Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications course of the University of Aveiro, curiously at the time when the UA facilities occupied one of the buildings of the then Centre for Telecommunications Studies (CET). Being the only female element in her course, she finished her degree in 1982 and joined CET that same year.
With more than 30 years of professional experience, Teresa began her career as a digital switchover specialist, in the development of digital telephone stations for the Portugal Telecom network (ETD and ELD), followed by teams leadership and projects development in the area of Services and Mobile Networks, responsibility for the Information Society Applications Department and participation in projects in strategic areas with emphasis on organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Without ever changing company and always in the same city, Teresa had the privilege of accompanying the evolution of CET to PT Inovação and, later, Altice Labs, adapting to the different challenges that came along her journey, with the same commitment and dedication, an example she tried to convey to the audience during the "Made In Aveiro" session.
